After a tiring morning at a playbarn with my little people last Friday, I returned to my car parked in an icy field. Driving out I looked in my rear view mirror to see my pal stuck, wheels spinning! So, of course I stopped and pushed her out. Later that day my friend sent me this text: J said ‘Why is Kerry is a Super Hero?’, which left me somewhat baffled.
For some hours I was rather bemused by this but thoroughly enjoyed where my mind went; How can I be a super hero? What is it that makes me a super hero? What did he see in me? What am I not seeing in myself? As the day progressed I put up all of my talents against this label to see if they would stick? Would they? Could they? What is it that I do that I could be a super hero to a three year old? To anyone?
What would think if you were told you were a ‘Super Hero’?
Three year old or not, it certainly made my day. Even when we figured why we think he came to this conclusion, I was (and am) still rather thrilled by it. I wonder how long it will take him to realise that I am not a bionic woman who pushes cars out of ditches… well it was just a little jog really, a shuv truth be told. But I will take that handle thank you very much – with a great big smile on my face and a skip in my heart.
How about you?
This episode has given me so much clarity in what makes me different and what is it that I want for my clients. I want to find the ‘Super Hero’ in everyone! I do. We live in a world where we are educated and socialised to fit in, to be one of the crowd, to be ‘normal’. I coach people to be their version of ‘normal’. The label of being your own ‘Super Hero’ sounds fun doesn’t it? it allows you to smile and feel special about it.
If you feel that you don’t know your own strengths and want a way to focus them; find a way to hire me as your coach and I will find your ‘Super Hero’.
I love the “Fame Tag” you’ve discovered which proves Super Hero’s don’t all wear tights and capes but focus on their own incredible inner powers.
I love the idea of finding the Super Hero in everyone – what a fabulous idea! Who wants to be “normal” anyway – certainly not something that I’ve ever aspired to. Now, where did I put my cape… 😉
It’s one thing that lets us all down at some time or another. We stop appreciating what we are good at. We should all take time on a regular basis to sit down and write that list.

Great idea to find the super hero in everyone! And what a wonderful reminder of how children see the perfection in us as adults. Oh and can I borrow your ‘Wonder Woman’ outfit sometime ; ) x x
Capcs, wonder women – we can all find one that resonates with us… but the real ‘super hero’ is there within us all. All you need to do is label it and you will find characteristics that support the label. Go on, give it a go… what super hero label would you want to have?
